I'm coming home... to EAT!

After over a year and a half away from Knoxville, I have realized that one of the things I really have missed is the food!  I find myself craving things that the Tri-Cities area simply doesn't offer.  The number one thing being ethnic food in general.  If you want a burger, pizza or sandwich there are tons of places to satisfy your craving, too many in my opinion.  However, if you want a Gyro, Felafel, sushi (good sushi at least), or anything Asian other than Hibachi you're pretty much out of luck.   It is for this reason I have chosen to make my first blog a list of restaurants I have missed the past year and a half! In two weeks I will be back and start a regular critic's blog for Knoxville Area eateries, but for now I'd like to focus on the good!

1. Taste of Thai:  While we had one Thai restaurant in Johnson City, it pales in comparison to a wonder that is Taste of Thai.

2. Nama:  Can anyone in Knoxville really argue that there is better Sushi anywhere else?

3. Ali Baba's: This whole in the wall "deli" is simple yet absolutely amazing!

4. Cancun on Cedar Bluff:  If you go there ask for "Geovani", he's probably the best server of any Mexican restaurant.  I think everyone can agree that service is a huge part of what makes a restaurant amazing!

5. The China Pearl (in Farragut): not only does this place bring back awesome memories of my mom and me spending time together, the food there really is top notch.  I haven't been since they moved into the actual shopping center, so I'm hoping it's still just as good.
